Sunday Service @ 11 am

Our Sunday service is usually about an hour long and includes sung worship, prayer and a Bible centred talk. Part way through the service children go to their special programme which involves age appropriate Bible teaching and activities. After the service we have time to chat, share and encourage one another as we enjoy coffee, tea or soft drinks and snacks after the service.

Prayer Meeting

We strongly believe that communication with God through prayer is vital in all we do and that He hears and answers our prayers. We meet on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in someone’s home to pray together and encourage one another.

House Groups

We meet in small groups twice a month in people’s homes; to study the Bible and consider how to apply it practically, pray together and seek to support and encourage one another. House groups are a great way to understand more about following Jesus and be encouraged and supported in that journey.

Youth

We have a youth and young Adults service every other month on a Sunday evening, 6:30 pm at the Burton in Lonsdale Pavilion. The service includes singing, a Bible centred talk, and refreshments afterwards.

Firepit

A Young Adults Bible Study is held in someone’s home every other Monday evening at 7:30 pm, with games, Bible study/discussion and snacks.

Community involvement

As a church we want to bless our local communities. We have hosted events including quiz nights, Christmas craft events and summer events to help us get to know our neighbours. We are also involved in some community projects – such as The Pantry Food Bank.

Who are we?

Cornerstone Church is not a building but a group of ordinary people of various ages, backgrounds and experiences who are on a journey of faith, united by Jesus and learning to live and love like Him.

We love God and people and so seek to serve our local community. We long to see others become wholehearted followers of Jesus too whether that be locally, nationally or globally and so we pray, support and take action to that end.

We meet in Low Bentham, serving Bentham and the surrounding rural communities. We aim to be directed by the Bible, led by God’s Holy Spirit, dedicated to discipleship and focused on mission.

We are part of a wider group of churches known as the Free Methodist Church.

Where to Find Us

Parking is available along Main Street. Please be mindful of yellow lines and only park where it is safe and legal to do so.

There is also a car park a very short walk from the Institute. It is shown as “the sidings” on the map above.
